The project adopted the assumption that it is necessary to find effective solutions to build an integration that starts from young people by using their resources, skills and potential. Young immigrants can be a great benefit for Europe if we know about their experiences and their capabilities and understand how they can be strengthened; if they are integrated and valued not only for their personal development but also for the development of the territory in which they live now. The general objective of the project is to test methods and to use the competences acquired through experiential path of participants. The specific objectives of the project are:
– Strengthen the skills of youth workers who work with organizations that deal with multiculturalism and cultural integration;
– Provide youth workers with the tools to support young immigrants to recognize, strengthen and enhance the skills acquired in their experiential courses;
– Encouraging participants in the self-evaluation, self-learning, self-awareness processes and whether through the methods and tools offered on formal education.
The training course pursue its objectives through the stimulation of the participants, who are guided through non-formal education tools. The processes aimed at creating new narratives of the self, diversity and inclusion in Europe, to strengthen the idea of immigration as a civil growth opportunities, social, economic and cultural opportunities.
The TC will bring together 39 participants from 12 European countries, including youth workers who work in the field of inclusion, social integration and cultural mediation; educational social workers or youth leaders working with young people in multicultural contexts; young people with fewer opportunities; immigrant youth and volunteers from organizations that deal with hospitality and cultural integration of migrants. The project aims to build a skills enhancement process by integrating experiential know-how with the creativity of young people from different cultures and contexts. The mutual learning processes will be structured through a multicultural approach and through the use of non-formal education methods and tools.
The process is structured around a few key concepts that will be the framework within the methodology of the non-formal learning:
– F-ActiveIt is a training program in which participants learn by paction and by peer to peer approach.
– The centrality of the process of exchange and dialogue. The TC focuses on the building skills for dialogue and exchange processes, promoting ownership and awareness of the involved participants throughout the learning process.
– “Fusion” between multicultural and non-formal methodologies input.
