Third meeting of the Community of Practices within the EPIC-UP project

On August 18, Association “Euni Partners” organised a meeting regarding the upcoming trip to exchange good practices with the municipality of Lodz, Poland, within the EPIC-UP project. Representatives from the Directorate „Labour Office“,the Municipality of Blagoevgrad, the Regional Administration Blagoevgrad, and the Foundation “Starting Over” took part in the meeting. 

The main objective of the meeting was to clarify organisational details related to the preparation and execution of the visit. During the meeting, key aspects of social assistance, inclusion of refugees and migrants, as well as employment challenges, were discussed.

The field visit to Poland will focus on:

  • Social inclusion of refugees and migrants;
  • The role of local authorities and the non-governmental sector in providing psychological support and integration services;
  • Integration centres and their role in community cohesion;
  • Good practices for promoting foster care;
  • Models for social inclusion in Poland and Bulgaria;

What is expected from the meeting in Poland?

The members of the Community of Practices consider that the visit to Poland will be an opportunity to exchange valuable experiences and working models that can be adapted at the local level.

The last day of the visit will conclude with a meeting at the Non-Governmental Center of the Municipality of Łódź, where various initiatives in support of people with a migrant background will be presented, as well as the specifics of migration policy in the country.

The meeting highlighted that social challenges cannot be solved overnight. Therefore, sharing successful practices and active partnership and collaboration between institutions and non-governmental organisations are essential to ensure sustainable and effective solutions.
