On May 13–14th Association “Euni Partners” organized debates on the topic of “Active Citizenship” in collaboration with the High School of Sciences and Mathematics “Acad. Sergei Korolev”. The event was conducted as part of the project “EUth: Strengthening Youth and Democracy in Europe” funded by the Erasmus+ programme.
The debates engaged forty-eight students from the High School of Sciences and Mathematics “Acad. Sergei Korolev”. The participants were randomly assigned to topics related to active participation in civic life. The debates centered on the active civic participation of young people in public life and the level of trust young people have in institutions.
The debates provoked the students’ interest in the opportunities to assert their voice in public life and the practical application of democratic values. The participants exhibited critical thinking skills, teamwork, and empathy towards differing viewpoints. The students shared feedback about their experiences during the debates as well as their ideas and suggestions concerning positive changes to the policies of the European Union.
The Association has organized upcoming debates in the High School of Sciences and Mathematics “Acad. Sergei Korolev” on May 27–28th and in the Vocational High School of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geodesy “Vasil Levski” on May 29th.
