3A Approach Training for social workers targeting children with disabilities and their families

A 4 -day of training within the project Listen, Act, Analyze was held in Locri, Italy. The theme of the training was 3 A Approach – a methodology developed based on professional experience in the field of education and special didactics for children between 5 – 16 years old.

During the activities, the participants – social workers, had the opportunity to get acquainted with the 3 A methodology and to try how it actually works in practice, by doing various exercises with real-life situations.

The 3A Approach includes 3 specific components – active listening, analyzing, and act. Through active listening, social workers can build a detailed picture of the child’s behavior, functioning, and family environment, to identify the child’s needs and to support him/ her in the best possible way. The second component – analyzing is based on neurodiagnostic in order for various processes connected to the central and peripheral nervous system to be checked how they function. The third component is presented entirely by different exercised and good practices examples.
