Association “Euni Partners” organized a meeting for the purpose of creating a Community of Practices in Blagoevgrad as part of project “EPIC-UP: Upscaling the European Platform of Integrating Communities”. The meeting was held on March 19th 2025 in Municipality Blagoevgrad.
The goal of the Community of Practices is the improvement of the integration of migrants in the town. Representatives of Municipality Blagoevgrad, Regional Administration, Directorate “Labour Office” – Blagoevgrad, Southwest University “Neofit Rilski”, Ministry of Labour and Social Politics, Statistics Department – Blagoevgrad, Foundation “Starting Over” attended the meeting.
The meeting focused on several key moments:
- discussion of the identified needs and challenges in the integration of migrants, such as language barrier, the lack of structured activities and mechanisms for resolving unforeseen situations, as well as the need for a better communication strategy between the migrants, migrant-led organizations, public authorities, educational institutions and civic organizations.
- feedback gathered from the attending representatives of institutions
- discussion of future actions for achieving improvement in the integration of migrants in the town
The initiative aims to create and test strategies for integration that effectively meet the needs of migrants, as well as those of local communities.
