AgriGo4Cities Transnational Training – Munich 21-24 November

Association Euni Partners and the Association of South West Municipalities of Bulgaria and  took part in the AgriGo4Cities transnational training which took place in Munich between 21 and 24 November.  The training sessions lasted two days and served as an introduction to the participatory urban and peri-urban agriculture (UPA) action planning. Variety of lectures, presentations and action planning sessions provided theoretical framework, good practices and space for discussion and experience sharing between the participants. The study visit, on the third day of the training, brought us to 3 urban gardening sites in Munich. The participants had the chance to talk to representatives of each garden in order to get new inspiration and know-how from real examples.

AGRIGO4CITIES – Urban Agriculture for Changing Cities: Governance Models for Better Institutional Capacities and Social Inclusion Project aims to involve Participatory Urban and Peri-urban agriculture (UPA) as a powerful and emerging method to improve public institutional capacities in order to tackle socio-economic exclusion of vulnerable/marginalized groups and to stimulate sustainable urban development in the Danube region.

The Project is co-funded by the Interreg Danube Transnational Programme and gathers together 17 partners from 8 countries. The project is led by the Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and in Bulgaria is being implemented by the Association of South West Municipalities as territorial partner and Association Euni Partners as associated partner.The initiative is part of the Association Euni Partners effort to support local authotities, educational, cultural institiutions and local stakeholders in development and realisation of international projects with high community value. Between 2012 and 2017 we have implemented over 15 projects for the benefit of local partners and stakeholders. The AgriGo4Cities is one of the three international projects being implemented through the Association Euni Partners Network for the benefit of the Association of South West Municipalities. Between 2014 and 2016 was implemented the project POWER-EuroPean netwOrk of Woman Mayors for Equal OppoRtunities in Citizens’ Life” funded by The Europe for Citizens Programme and promoting the participation of women in political and social life and joining partners from 5 European Countries. The project Act Social – ACTions for the SuppOrt and  enhancement of SocIAl entrepreneurship at Local level aims to promote the social economy at local and cross-border level by supporting the creation, operation and development of social enterprises and  is co- funded by The Cooperation Programme INTERREG V-A “Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020”.
